If you own miniature goats, the day will come when you decide to breed them, whether for milk purposes or just because there is nothing cuter than a baby goat jumping up on mom's back for a ride around the pasture!
Write is Right!
First of all, you need to know when your goat is due to kid! This will only happen if you keep track of the dates she was in with the buck and note any times you either saw a breeding take place, or signs that a breeding had taken place. At the time, you think to yourself "Oh, I will remember this day because.....", but trust me, 5 months from then you will be racking your brain trying to remember, so write it down- right then!
Supplies Are Supplied By YOU!
Be prepared! As soon as you decide to breed your doe, get out your list of supplies and make sure you have checked off everything on the list and keep it in a rubbermaid or similar tub ready to haul off to the pen the minute you need them!
In this day and age of YouTube, chances are you can find many goat births to view, but having an experienced breeder to walk you through is a huge benefit, so check with your local club or organization for that type of resource as well.
