Miniature Goat Farming Made Fun!

Miniature goat farming has increased in popularity as the productivity and pet-like quality of the miniature goat has become more appreciated among livestock breeders throughout North America. These multi-purpose animals can be used for milk, fiber and meat production and have the added benefit of being highly intelligent, friendly, gregarious creatures.

Miniature goat breeds include the Pygmy, Nigerian Dwarf, Pygora, and Mini-Dairy breeds. Registries exist for each of these breeds to provide information, education and support for the goat farming industry. Shows are held in many areas and provide opportunities for youth 4-H and FFA projects as well as the open showman to exhibit their animals.

Rural San Diego has the perfect climate and terrain for the miniature goat farmer. Chaparral and rocky hillsides are big favorites of the miniature goat. Proverbial Pygmies Farm has been in business since 1990 and we have raised all breeds of miniature goats, with an emphasis on the Pygmy goat.
